Claudia is especialist
in early music with a Master of Arts in Recorder Performance at the
Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Switzerland (2004).
En 1992, she obtains
her Diploma in Musical Pedagogy from Universidad Pedagógica
Nacional. After her graduation, she wins several prestigious scholarships
provided by governmental and private sponsors like Icetex and the Mazda
Foundation, which allows her to travel to Switzerland in 1993 to begin
her advanced studies in Early Music in the Conservatory of Music in
Geneva. She studies under the direction of renowned conductor and flutist
Gabriel Garrido.
While continuing
her studies in Geneva, she also participated in several seminars and
master classes in recorder performance by Jerome Minis, Han Tol, Pierre
Hamon, Nicolas Strosser and Pedro Mesmeldorff. In 2000 she is selected
to participate in several large music productions and concert tours
with various European ensembles, including The Baroque Academy of Ambronay
(France), conducted by Gabriel Garrido, with performances in France,
Switzerland and Belgium.
In 2004 she returns
to Colombia and she becomes the coordinator of the Early Music Program
at Universidad del Bosque in Bogotá. Later she presents her own
project of Early Music Program at Universidad Nacional, winning the
2017 Merit Recognition Award and becoming professor of early music studies
at this school. In 2006 she founded the early music ensemble Esfera
Armoniosa.
Throughout her career,
Claudia has participated in different recording productions, such as,
"Le Balet Comique de la Royne" by Baltasar de Beaujoyeulx
(1997) by the Emsemble Elyma (Switzerland). In 2007, she collaborates
on the recording of the CD Del mar del alma" by the Colombian
ensemble Música Ficta. Io vo Cantar(2010) and Que
Dulce Violencia (2015) with Esfera Armoniosa.
In 2009 she moved
to USA. She is currently living in Florida, but in the years that she
lived in California she was part of different productions with renowned
ensembles like California Bach Society, American Bach Soloist, and the
Farallon Recorder Quartet. As a soloist she played in different Festivals
in San José and Santa Cruz (CA). She has been part of the faculty
teacher in many Recorder workshops organized by the Recorder Societies.
