Began his music
studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Pereira and as member of the
Philharmonic Band of Gimnasio Central del Valle, Buga. As oboist, was
a member of the Colombian Youth Symphony Orchestra, but has focused
primarily in the performance of renaissance and baroque music.
Studied oboe with
Óscar Osorio and early music with Eduardo Vargas. Has been a
member of the Chamber Choir (Buga), Grupo Canto and the baroque band
La Folia (Bogota), Ciaramella and Case Western Reserve Baroque Orchestra
(USA).
Has participated
in the Ahmerst Early Music Festival (USA) where he took master classes
with Saskia Coolen, Gert Van Gert, Pete Rose, Adam Gilbert, Marion Verbrüggen
and members of the Flanders Recorder Quartet. Has participated in the
recording of the CDs "Del cielo y de la tierra" and "Historia
de la música en Santa Fe de Bogota" edited by Fundación
de Música. He has also participated in the productions of the
Schola Cantorum Basiliensis presented in Bogota.
Sergio Llano is
also a journalist who concluded a Masters in Management of Information
Technology at Universidad Oberta in Catalonia, and a Masters in Communications
in Organizations at Universidad Complutense in Madrid. In this area,
he is focused in pedagogy, academic research and consultancy.
